The last colloquium of the term will focus on the authors’ new book, The Khan’s Pifferi: Reading about the Musics of Asia in Late Fifteenth-Century Italy (Open Book Publishers, 2026), The session will examine how knowledge about the musics of Asia was read, mediated, and interpreted, and what this reveals about broader processes of knowledge formation and Italian imaginative engagements with cultures beyond Europe.
